Getting new Toys - 2008/03/03 01:36
It's almost like Christmas! Tomorrow my new Intel Modular Server arrives for my PC shop! I currently have 3 servers with one hosting two more virtual machines. I'm keeping my HP DL-360 for a Domain Controller and Exchange box and replacing the my current Dell 2600 and another Intel box I built for SQL and Microsoft CRM. The servers that I am replacing are around 4 years old which I consider at the end of thier life cycle. We also run a Managed Services company and the software is going 64 bit which requires me to go to a 64 bit platform. I haven't decided how brave I am about being an early adopter of Windows 2008. I'm going with the modular server because as my business grows, I can add additional compute modules and drives in the built-in SAN.
