VMware Fusion on Amazon - 2008/08/28 02:33 Hi all,

I was pricing up buying VMware Fusion - made famous by 2 particular podcasts (you should be getting paid by apple IMHO).

I looked on the apple store and found it for £50. OK, thats not stupidly expensive. But then I saw the educational version for £39 and thought, I qualify for that, why not...

But then I decided to go to Amazon (UK) to see what they could do. I found the educational version still at £39, BUT the retail version was at £32! Cheaper that the discounted version. Its crazy!

I suppose what I am trying to say in these ramblings is that if you need fusion, look around for the best price, and know this: it will not be on the apple store.

Re:VMware Fusion on Amazon - 2008/08/28 12:14 Yeah, I just looked. There is some sort of rebate on it right now too, bringing it down to $39.00US, er maybe £22. Not sure how it is to buy stuff from the US and have it shipped to the UK (if that's where you are). You can download it directly from VMware for £46, but that's not exactly a deal.

I think Fusion 2.0 should be released soon -- it's been in Beta for a couple months now. But I think I've heard rumors that the upgrade would be free anyhow, so that probably wouldn't even factor into it.

Re:VMware Fusion on Amazon - 2008/08/29 14:52 I saw it in the local electronics store's ad for $29.99 - so it appears to be a fire sale Check out my blog at: http://virtuallycrazy.blogspot.com
