Speed up Vista startup - 2008/07/25 00:28 I apologise that I canot remember the episode number but in one episode Nicky mentioned that he need to modify the Vista boot for a company so that it would boot in 30 seconds. I believe he was able to achieve a boot time of approx 35 seconds. I would like to know this was achieved as I am currently building a Vista SOE for my company.

Re:Speed up Vista startup - 2008/07/27 08:59 Hi Jon,

I gotta admit I kinda had a little help from the hardware on this one. To boot up this quickly we had a clean install on a Lenovo Thinkpad X300 with solid state drive,

Cheers

Re:Speed up Vista startup - 2008/07/27 18:00 Nicky,
Thanks for the reply....I'm currently trying to configure it on a Toshiba R400 tablet. I found that when I restore to the out of the box settings, the windows updates seems to put the laptop in a hole that it cannot dig itself out of....the laptop reboots and brings up a screen saying:
"Configuring updates"

I have tried to leave it there but two hours later it is still there....am not sure what to do next.....

Thanks.

Are you using the integrated SP1 source?
