Home folder in start menu - 2008/10/14 19:21 I have an issue at the moment with my domain where my users home folders are linked to the start menu.

If I login as person 1 (aka Alex), When I click start --> Programs. At the top of the list where it sayd Microsoft update etc....it has a new entry "Alex"

If I log out and then login as Jenny the same start menu location will now have two folders, "Alex" and "Jenny" (without the quotes).

I do not know how this occurred or how to remove it but it is frustrating me no end!!!!

Can someone please help?

Re:Home folder in start menu - 2008/10/15 08:00 Not quite sure on how to start with this one.....

Are the workstations XP? And how are you adding the My Dcouments to the Start Menu. Sounds like the profiles are getting a little screwed. Are you editing the Default or the All Users Profile?

Nicky.

Re:Home folder in start menu - 2008/10/16 16:21 this certainly does sound like the early days when i used to play around with the Default User and All Users profiles on XP, before i knew about Group Policy!

a good one was copying the Administrator settings into the Default User and wondering why everyone now has a drive mapped to my workspace...

anyway, Jon, try to let us have a bit more info - are you tinkering with Group Policy settings, or with the individual PCs?
