Diagram In Episode 5 - 2006/11/21 19:29 Hi,
In Episode 5, a diagram of the Itidiots network was put on the screen.

Very Nice.

The gateway address and the network IP address have a “/24” after the IP address.
Is this to identify that last 24bits of the IP address can be allocated to the Hosts?

Thats correct, the /24 means that 24 bits of the subnet mask are set to 1.

So 255.0.0.0 = /8
255.255.0.0 = /16
255.255.255.0 =/24
255.255.240.0 = /20
255.255.128.0 = /17
