ad.itidiots.com - 2006/12/29 02:05 Hiya all,
Just came across your podcasts.
On your second episode you have your DNS set up as
ad.itidiots.com
is the AD part of it required (ill presume it stands it for Active Directory)
or could you just put say "nik.itidiots.com" and it would work the same.
Thanks for the great podcasts guys.

Re:ad.itidiots.com - 2006/12/29 19:46 Hi Pete,

It is kinda standard practice to name your AD forest from a delegated subdomain of your external presence. e.g. externally we are itidiots.com but internally we are ad.itidiots.com and this part of the network is our Active Directory part hence the prefix ad. Some people use corp rather than ad but in theory it could be anything.

Cheers,

Nicky
