That would be useful
PS joey one of the easiest ways is to use the WIM off a Vista cd, then use that to capture a image.
or use a mixed mode setup with your old xp RIS images, convert them to wim's and switch to native mode. Thats how i update old RIS servers without breaking anything, i then add vista or windows 7 client images to it.
This is a topic that I would definitely want to watch...
For months now I have been trying to do this virtually... I cannot get XP deployed over a network...
Watching the old vids and they were always asking for feedback and ideas for what we want to see next.
I know it appears they are widing down now. But I've sent Nicky an e-mail via the online form as would like to see the following:
Would it be possible to get a guide for Windows Deployment Service in Server 2003? Installing it, setting it up and then setting it up to be able to deploy XP and Windows 7 over PXE boot.
I ask because I have real problems when trying to set this up to deploy XP to a Netbook. Windows 7 is easier because it has the WIM file but XP doesn't. Also I only have Server 2003 and not 2008.
Although it would be great to do a guide for server 2008 as well.
Would be a good guide then.
I will donate £10 if it appears :)
