ITidiots open forum > iPhone 4 Aerial Issue

It all does seem a little dodgy, I mean surely these things would have been thoroughly tested. Seems just, well crap, that such a huge 'defect' was not detected.

I really do want one of these things, and even ordered one but luckily Orange screwed my order up and I have now cancelled until this issue is clarified. I am sure some of this is negative publicity, but for a phone this does seem to be a HUGE issue!

I guess the full truth and extent of the issue will soon be made clear, I notice the 'net is mad with stories, even saw a story about Steve Jobs recalling them (Daily Mail) this link is no longer active. People do seem to be going mad out there...

Hasn't been a problem in real use for me, hasn't dropped a call or anything, even when I tried to get it to drop.

I don't think it's negative publicity. I hate Apple but posted this because I know my E71 suffers from a similar issue. Aerial is built into the base area. So when you hold it like you hold a phone, the signal starts to drop like this

It's fing annoying.

Another reason I can't be doing with an iPhone is I just need tactile touch. I've tried typing on the iTouch and the lack of feedback means I have to watch what I'm doing. A physical keyboard is just so much better. It's all about the tactile touch :) being able to feel the keys.

its easy to get around this problem even steve jobs says you have to hold it properly.

Most iphone users find holding it between their buttock checks is the best solution.
