Just to point out, although I'm sure Nicky is already aware. When he says the great thing about the iPad is that it's a pick up and use device, which is why Win 7 on such devices wouldn't work, due to the boot times.
However, you have to remember, the reason the iPad, iPhone and iTouch are pick up and use devices is because they are always on. My iTouch sits there, is pick up and use (for when on the loo only now :) ) but this is only because it's always on, so of course, no boot times. But then the battery is also draining. So you'll get to the end of the week or so and you'll find it dead, because you forgot to charge it.
Boot up times are the same on my iTouch as my Win 7 machine. If there was a feature for Win 7 to do what the iTouch/iPad does when you click the power button, semi putting it to sleep or mega low power, then Win 7 would be great and would be a pick up and use device. Plus it would have proper multi-tasking :) not happy shopper multi-tasking that ios 4 has :o)
