Normal RJ45 cable but with a optical fibre in it. So you sign a torch into one end and the other end flashes. So you can find the port amongst all the mess in the patch cabinet.
I could have done with that when wiring the home wired network through to the router. Bascially it involved me and my dad feeding wire through the loft and out down the drainpipe outside through a hole drilled in the wall into the back of the router. But, by the end of it, we didn't know which end was which.
We resorted to using a battery, a few wires, a voltage metre and two walkie talkies to find out which cable went to which room.
